HEPA filters can be used for a longer time depending on the unit load with dust and other particles in the room to work. Used in very good conditions, can work even a few years. However, particles trapped in the filters can be very dangerous because there are germs can accumulate or develop very varied. Therefore both during use and especially before replacing these filters they must be decontaminated, both for protection and enclosure to protect personnel working with filters.
Normally this should be mandatory decontamination before replacing filters once a year and executed in the remaining time.
Until now it was used as a decontamination agent formaldehyde – a substance that, in addition to being toxic (carcinogenic), takes a long time for decontamination.
BIOQUELL developed a system based on hydrogen peroxide decontamination. This has the advantage that it has no toxicity formalin and decontamination takes less time – about 3 hours.
The decontamination process is based on the effect of hydrogen peroxide, a substance known as having a strong disinfecting and biodezactivant.
